Evidence of lies presented here

CORRECTION: Links fixed from last newsletter
80-20 Educational Foundation is deeply concerned about the
behavior of David Tian Wang, whose Chinese name is 王湉,
別名天天, and who is a fairly well-known individual in some
sectors of the Chinese-American community. No one should
intentionally mislead our community.

There were technical problems with Monday's newsletter and
a few of the links were inactive. The important evidence of the
lies told by some members of our community was unavailable.
Click here to see it today. Here is also a direct link
http://www.chineseindc.com/thread-44315-1-1.html that shows
the lies that were told. Part of that evidence is presented below.
If you have not read Monday's e-newsletter, it is presented below
again, with corrected links.

Preamble:  To win equal opportunity for ourselves, we need
to work together & NOT intentionally mislead our own people.

          An Irresponsible Person Lied Publicly

A person by the name of David Tian Wang in CA, a fairly
well-known person in some sectors of the Chinese-Am
community stated insistently in Chineseindc.com that he had
voted in the CA primary, although he was NOT a U.S. citizen.
Click here to verify.    Many may find his deceitfulness and
arrogance amusing.  Many people wrote 80-20 and requested
that we find out if he actually voted.  80-20 investigated. It was
obvious that David Tian Wang did not vote in the CA primary
of 2016.  He lied to deceive his own people.

80-20 PAC obtained a voters list from the state of CA.  The
following is what we found, through the help of Daniel Zhu of
Palo Alto CA, a high school student with exceptional computer
skills and facilities.

1.  http://www.80-20ef.org/2016/primary1.JPG  shows the

persons with that name living near or at Diamond Bar, CA,
where David Tian Wang resides.

The two people at Diamond Bar, are age 50+ and the two
others have registered to vote before 2010, while this David
Tian Wang is 33 yrs of age and claimed to be voting for the
1st time in 2016.

                Irresponsible Reporting

Remember UA Flight 3411?   A person by the pen name
of "Seattle雷尼尔", claiming to be an insider of the airlines
industry, posted on sina.com and weixin.qq.com that
3 of the 4 rejected passengers were AsAms.  Even after
the real number of rejected AsAm passengers was known,
 he/she didn't correct it.  Click here (1 , 2) to verify.

To err is human.  Unfortunately, intentional & public
lies confuse the loyal  users of ethnic social media.  These
liars hurt not only the reputation of the social media but also
the Asian American community, which has increasingly used
such media for getting information. 80-20 appeals to AsAm
social media to tighten their standards.

For abusers like David Tian Wang and "Seattle 雷尼尔", who
seemingly wanted to mislead our community, their respective
accounts may need to be suspended for a period of time, as
a warning.

Epilogue: We must work together.  80-20 will be delighted to

deceiving their own people.  This will create a win-win for the

media, for our community and indeed for these 2 individuals.

War Story 5 - our kids deserve support from us

Leveraging others when we are NOT strong enough

Good News.  80-20 has its own WeChat account now.  Click
here to copy "War Story 4" in Chinese and paste it onto your
own WeChat page please.   It copies easily.  Its format will not
change. I'll be most grateful, if you'll do that.  Be a pioneer
& lead 80-20 into the WeChat age.

War Story  5 - Fighting for our children

Background Info:  The college admissions issue can only be settled in 2 courts - the courts of law and the court of public opinion.  Bringing cases to federal courts requires a huge amount of time and millions of dollars.  80-20 doesn't have that kind of money.  So we had to leverage the bigger power in order to win in the courts of law.  We depend on Mr. Ed Blum and his organization "Students for Fair Admissions", SFFA, to fight for our rights.

80-20 helps Blum to recruit exceptional students as plaintiffs. We also gave token financial assistance, totaling $15,000 thus far, and hopefully adding $10,000 per year henceforth.

80-20 EF is probably the best AsAm org. helping our children to win in the court of public opinion by sending these e-newsletters and urging YOU to forward.

The Issue:  Princeton Sociologist Espenshade et al reported that to gain equal access to elite universities, AsAm applicants need to yield 140 SAT pts. to white applicants and 270 pts. and 450 pts. respectively to Hispanic and black applicants, when all other qualifications are equal.

80-20 is  outraged that AsAm applicants, being minorities, need to yield 140 SAT pts to white peers in a so called "affirmative action program"!

Result:  The Vise Is Tightening
The "Fisher vs. U of TX" I and II court cases, both initiated by Blum, reached the Supreme Court.  Those two cases were not outright victories for us, but they have provided the basis for us to tighten the vise on those who discriminate against us.   Our successes thus far include:

(1) Harvard and Princeton being forced by courts to hand over many years of admissions records to Blum's group, and
(2) SFFA lawyers taking the deposition of Harvard president Drew Faust.

Don't forget our own Shame:  Our community can't be proud of ourselves in this fight.   We are not poor.  But we don't have the UNITY and "charity begins at home" spirit to get our assets together to fight a good fight for our children.

Many of us have even worked against our youngsters' interest.  Wealthy individuals like Gerald Chan and Elaine Chao chose to donate respectively
$350 million and $40 million to Harvard, which invented "holistic evaluation" for its admissions process to limit the number of AsAm students on its campus.  Harvard had done it before to suppress the number of Jewish students.  Click 1 (80-20's Amicus brief to the Supreme Court) and 2 (Daniel Golden's book) to see a huge amount of evidence.  What did the Chan and Chao families get back in return? A Harvard building was named after each family.  History will decide whether the naming of the buildings honors or shames the ancestors of the respective families.

2. Join SFFA, especially if you or a relative has just experienced
unfair rejection from Harvard or the Univ. of N. Carolina.  Thank you.

War Story 4 - Stopping Racist Attacks Cold

How political know-how stops racist attacks cold
War Stories 4 - Protecting AsAm candidates from racist attacks

Time and Issue: Prior to 2002, attacking AsAm political candidates for their race background was commonplace. In 2002, 80-20 received 2 such complaints. One was from Alice Lai-Bitker, a Chinese Am candidate, running for a County Supervisor seat in Alameda, CA. Another was from Christopher Gabaldon, a Filipino-Am candidate, running for Assemblyman in the 18th District of CA. Click here to verify by reading the Footnote.

80-20's unique way of stopping such racist attacks: 80-20 knows that such attacks against AsAm political candidates are normally suggested and designed by their opponent's paid political consultants.  Hence, 80-20 passed a resolution  to use 80-20's own resources to track down and drive out both the offending candidate and his/her political consultants.
Complete Success: No AsAm candidate has encountered an open racist attack by their opponents after 2002.  (Anonymous attacks still exist, but they are not effective.)
Analysis- Why was 80-20's resolution such a complete success?
    1) 80-20's political know-how: 80-20 knows election campaigns. It knows that in most low level political contests, the candidates are the figureheads while their paid consultants are the real brains and decision makers. Paid consultants are pros who have chosen politics as their career. Hence, when 80-20 aimed its gun at the pros and threatened to dog them until they would be driven out of their chosen profession, they stopped designing racist attacks against AsAm candidates.
     2) 80-20's effectiveness in speeding the news to political consultants: 80-20 advised AsAm candidates to make a copy of 80-20's resolution and send it to their opponents & consultants. Click here to verify. Read the message in the second rectangular box. Since that fitted the self-interests of our candidates, the news spread quickly at the time, although nowadays most AsAm political candidates probably don't even worry about facing such racist attacks anymore. :-) 80-20 is pleased that its resolution resulted in such a complete empowerment.
Empowerment:  Could you or your offspring run for a political office one day?  Aren't you glad that 80-20 put a halt to racist attacks on AsAm candidates?  This was a contribution AsAms for all time.
