Hiring a Special Assistant To 80-20's President

When S. B. Woo was Lieutenant Governor of Delaware, he placed
hiring ad in Delaware papers with the following title:

    "Long Hours, Low Pay, and
                       Extreme Demand  for Work Performance"

Hundreds of our nation's best & brightest across the nation applied.
Later, a sizable fraction of his former staff became very prominent.
They include, but not limited to, the current Governor of Delaware,
Jack Markell, the current US Senator of Delaware Chris Coons, and
the current Attorney General of Delaware, Matt Denn.  Here is a
picture of them together at Woo's home.

From left to right: then County Exec. Coons but now US Senator,
Gov. Markell, Woo, and then Lt. Gov. Denn but now Attorney
General Denn.

(1) Long Hours, Low Pay, Extreme Demand for Work Performance
     still applies!

S.B. was a Democratic* Lt. Gov. under a Republican Governor.
His office budget was very limited so he had no choice but to
advertise for good staff that way.Unfortunately, things have NOT
changed much for Woo.  80-20 faces dire shortage in financial and
human resources.   So long hours, low pay, ..., etc still applies.
However, things in 80-20 could improve.

(2) Fantastic Upward Mobility Beckons!
80-20's SELF project is designed to get 80-20 out of its current
"poor as a church mouse" stage.  If SELF can reach $1 million/yr
for 5 years, and if a staff member proves to be a superstar, there
will be exceptional upward mobility in responsibility and pay.  Ying
Yang has resigned from 80-20 owing to personal reasons.  Note
that S. B. is retiring at the end of 2016.

(3) Required Qualifications

Self motivated, since the staff will be working at his/her own
house without close consultation; an exceptionally strong desire
to help the Asian Am community; a big heart, since self sacrifice
is often required -- working in evenings & weekends are often
required, since politics knows no day and night or holidays.
Superb spreadsheet and web skills are musts; a willingness to
work roughly the same hours when SB is working which is 7 am to
9 pm ECT, which is not difficult if one lives in or near the East
Coast time zone; a humility to learn politics -- politics like all
else needs to be learned.

(4) To Apply

Email your resume and SAT scores (if you are below 30 years
of age) to sbw@udel.edu.  Please also include a REQUIRED one
pager about why you want to work for 80-20.

80-20 is STILL As Poor As A Church Mouse

What happened to you and our community when 80-20 no longer
exists?  Will it mean the losing of a great fighter for our community?
If yes, then

Donate here till it huts .

Call To Action - Naming Rights

CALL TO ACTION

80-20 will offer the most generous donor to  SELF (Self Empowerment Long-term Fund) the naming rights of its SELF program*.  For example: "John Doe SELF Program".  It will be a HISTORIC Asian American self-empowerment program that historians will write about for decades and perhaps ages to come.

The offer will be made good on Oct. 25, 2015, if SELF's target is reached.  If it is not reached, all donations will be refunded in full.

The person named for the SELF program must be in good standing with the Asian American community i.e. considered helpful to Asian American community's effort and desire to enjoy justice and equal opportunity.

We call upon all Asian Americans to forward this email to all of your friends.

How 80-20 Came to This Decision

80-20 still urges all Asian Ams to   DONATING here till it hurts.  Don't ride on others' coattails to be full-fledged citizens.

80-20 still seeks 3 more donations of $250,000 to match an existing generous donor, who will donate that amount when matched by 3 others.

However, 80-20 assessed that the best assurance to keep 80-20 alive is to call upon ALL AsAms to forward this e-newsletters to all their Asian Am friends and beyond.   Why?  Because that will likely get millions of $$$ for SELF instead of a few hundred thousand.  The clock is ticking.  Oct. 25 is only 9 months away.

                             How Can you stomach it?

Princeton Review, a popular college guide, advises Asian students applying to elite schools this way:  "Don't attach a photograph to your application and don't answer the optional question about your ethnic background... Write about something entirely unrelated to your ethnic background.'"  Princeton Review openly asks our brightest students to deny their beings, deny their ethnicity, and deny their basic human rights.

The above is indeed used in a lawsuit by "Students for Fair Admissions" as one evidence of discrimination against Asian Am students.

How can we stomach a situation where our future generation is openly advised to deny their ethnicity, an immutable part of their beings? What kind of psychological problem will this cause?  How could they respect their parents who flaunt their wealth with big cars and big houses, while not willing to contribute to 80-20, the only Asia Am org. fighting for these students?

So 80-20 must be kept alive to fight for our youngsters and ourselves. We are adding a weapon - money coming from winning the naming rights -- to help SELF reach $1 million per year for 5 years.  We also truly want to honor the most generous individuals who help SELF succeed, and Asian Ams win our justice and equal opportunity.  Note that America gains too.  America becomes a "more
perfect union" when we win our rights!

FORWARD this email to all you friends.  COUNTING ON YOU!

Raise $2 Million but NOT enough

THANKS TO YOU, we reached $400,000/yr for 5 yrs. last
Saturday.   We've raised $2,000,000 in lump sum in 15 months.

What a wonderful statement on the changing attitude of our
community: individuals are coming TOGETHER and thinking
about the greater good for the community as a WHOLE!  However,
such a pace is NOT ENOUGH.

In the next 10 months, we need to raise $3,000,000 in lump sum.

HOW?  The only way is to raise money in BIGGER chunks.
80-20 has ONE commitment for a donation of $250,000 in lump sum,
provided we can get THREE others to each donate the same amount
by OCT 25, 2015 -- the deadline for SELF (Self Empowerment
Long-term Fund) to reach $1 million per year for 5 years.

    S. B. has  recruited 10 persons to help achieve that goal since 2
weeks ago.  Thus far, NO RESULT!    Hence 80-20 is issuing A
COMMUNITY-WIDE APPEAL.

Can you help?  Everyone of us knows 1 or 2 wealthy persons.
Make a direct approach yourself first.   If the response is warm or
even somewhat warm, tell S.B.and give him an email address or
phone number.  S.B. will place himself at the disposal of that hearted
potential BIG donor, while keeping you posted.

Don't be shy.  Raising 4 pots of $250,000 is a must.  Otherwise,
SELF is unlikely to reach its goal. 80-20, which provided you with the
unique services shown below, will likely demise.

In the meantime,  don't let up on  DONATING here till it hurts

The clock is ticking  Please continue to donate here while also
convince your wealthy friends to make a historical contribution.
80-20'll hold a magnificent event to honor those individuals and/or
orgs with the maximum publicity, as this will mark another historic
change in our community's outlook in helping the WHOLE.

$1.2k short of the $400,000 goal

THANKS TO YOU, SELF is only $1,250/yr short of our goal to reach $400,000/yr this week.  See it for yourself.  In other words,  we have raised about $2,000,000 in 15 months for the sole purpose of benefiting our community.

What a proud record!   WE are no longer "a pile of loose sand!"

Just that NEWS, when spread to our friends and foes by 80-20's leaders, will create wonderful positive effect for our community.  80-20 know how politicians think -- politicians believe that a well-educated, economically sufficient and UNITED community must be respected and not be dealt with lightly.  You are beginning to open your pocketbooks to provide 80-20 with the WEAPONS to fight for your rights.

     Thank you.

Friends, we are still $1,250/yr short!  YOU can be the person to send us across that line.  Do it NOW!  DONATE here till it hurts.  Send us way across that line!

A challenge donation of $3.15K

Help SELF Reach the $400,000 Goal THIS WEEK!

I'll donate another $3,150 in lump sum today in the hopes that those of you, who have not donated yet, will donate to help achieve that goal.

Our total donation is at $392,500 per year for 5 years this morning.

We need persons to each donate $1,000/yr for 5 yrs, or 70 persons to each donate $100/yr for 5 yrs to achieve our goal.

The CHALLENGE to our community is NEVER the lack of capable individuals but the lack of enough of them caring for the WHOLE; NEVER the lack of wealthy individuals but the lack of enough of them DONATING to help the WHOLE.

Consequently, the WHOLE IS WEAK & GETS STEPPED ON, e.g. glass ceiling and higher barrier for AsAm students seeking admissions in first tier colleges.  This in turn PENALIZES EVERY INDIVIDUAL, including the rich and powerful and you!

                         DONATE here till it hurts.
