Shall We Maintain a Slavish Silence?

Were you shocked by how FBI Director Wray would treat the gymnast's community the right way, and the AsAm community the diametric opposite way?

Click here to witness on video Director Wray's humble apologies, sincere promises, and resolutely action firing the wrongful FBI agent. In contrast, Director Wray dealt with the repeated gross misconducts of his agent against persons of Chinese origin with utter silence and complete neglect.

Remember the well-reported cases involving Sherry Chen (2012), Prof.Xiaoxing Xi (2015) and Prof. Anming Hu (2020)? These cornerstone citizens of Chinese origin have been arrested, handcuffed before their family members, prosecuted, dragged through the torture of legal grinds, although they were completely innocent.

They lost their jobs and bore huge legal fees. Their family members
suffered alongside the victims. In addition, a chilling effect, whether created intentionally or not, engulfed our community. Is the community of 5 million persons of Chinese origin equally, perhaps even more worthy of, a similar apology, promise and resolute action firing the wrongful agent(s)?

Do we silently accept such unequal treatment? Or do we resolutely live up to our generational responsibility to speak up and insist on EQUAL treatment?

Broadcast our plight to the nation,
& if still ignored, to the World?

80-20's Board has considered buying a full-page ad, shown below, to greatly publicize our plight to the nation.
If the words in the ad are too small for you to read, click here and scroll down a little to read my letter to A.G. Garland publicized in our last e-newsletter.

Such an ad is expensive. A full-page ad in the Section A of NYT or WSJ together with another full-page ad in Politico (in order to ensure reaching the Congress) will cost about $150,000. A centerfold ad in the Sec. A of Washington Post costs $170,000.
