Unite to Support C-100’s Initiative

TV Ads that Hurt ALL Asian Americans?

Demagogic political attacks on China often plays into anti-Asian racial prejudices?   Here are examples.

(1)  The Chinese Professor video:  It was made in 2010 and also used in subsequent elections.
(2)  The Debbie SpendItNow video:  It was made in 2012 and aired during the Super Bowl for the Michigan Senate race.  The actress was a UC-Berkeley graduate.

80-20 shall help STOP such demagogic political ads which arouse suspicion, prejudice, hatred or fear of Asian Ams.

Bear in mind that any ad remotely suggesting anti-Semitism or anti-black would never be tolerated and indeed be harshly dealt with.

                                              Stop Such Ads!

Support  Committee 100 's (C-100) initiative on " Racial Prejudice Has No Place in the 2016 Elections ".  80-20's Boards have voted to ENDORSE it. See footnote for the guiding principles of this C-100 initiative.

Pending further development in the membership meeting of C-100, 80-20 may do much more than just endorsing the initiative.

C-100 and its 25th Anniversary Summit

C-100 is a prestigious organization.  A number of 80-20's Board members, including Alice Huang and I used to be its members.  We both left it.  I left it, because I thought many members of C-100 at the time were not willing to sacrifice a little to provide needed service for the Chinese- or Asian- Am. community. I often quoted JF Kennedy and pleaded with members of C-100 that
"To those whom much is given much is required.

Now, C-100 has done something most worthy. In a gala to celebrate its 25th Anniversary, one of its main themes is

Racial Prejudice Has No Place in the 2016 Elections - Let's work together to build a more inclusive society- beginning now"

Henry Kissinger, Chinese ambassador to the U.S. Cui Tianka, two former U.S. ambassadors to China, Steve Schwarzman of the Blackstone Group, and representatives of DNC (Democratic National Comm.) and RNC (Republican National Comm.) will be there together with many of the C-100 members.

Henry Kissinger and Ambassador Cui will speak on 4/9.  Presumably, Henry Kissinger who has always spoken out against unprincipled anti-China election rhetoric that could harm Asian Americans, will bring up that topic again.  Jing-Li Yu, an EF Board member, and I will both be at the sessions on 4/10 where representatives of DNC and RNC will speak to lend support to C-100.

80-20 urges all Asian Americans to actively support C-100's initiative 80-20 is never turf-conscious, because UNITY is our goal.
