The Making of History -- 50,000 Participants Achieved

History was made. The old record of 10,000 participants in a survey/petition sponsored by an Asian Am organization was broken by a factor of FIVE or more!

This implies unprecedented UNITY of the Asian Am. community.

o The largest Filipino American national organization, National Federation of Filipino American Assoications (NaFFAA), joined as a co-filer of a legal brief to the Supreme Court. The brief will advocate "a race-neutral and merit-based college admission policy."

o The 3 largest Indian Am. national organizations (GOPIO, NFIA & IAFP) have already joined as co-filers.

o Chinese-, Filipino- and Indian-Ams represent the 3 largest components of the Asian Am. community. The 3 communities comprise about 60% of the total Asian Am. community.

80-20 EF welcomes all other Asian Am. national organizations as co-filers in the legal brief.

Be a part of the history and take the survey. The names of the 50,000+ participants will be on permanent display on EF's website. The site is intended to be closed in 2 days. Take it NOW!

Abundant good News

Need 750 more survey participants to reach 50,000 to help our college applicants get a level playing field. To take the survey, click on http://admin.80-20nj.info/cgi/80/e?l=8/11e/f&w=no .

(1) Names of 50,000 survey participants will be on PERMANENT
display:

The names, cities and states of the 50,000 plus Asian Ams who have taken the survey will be on permanent display on 80-20 Educational Foundation's (EF's) website.

Whether they voted FOR or AGAINST, they voted their convictions, and we honor them. Future generations will learn about this historic struggle for a level playing field for Asian Am college applicants, and who fought on which side.

What will your answer be? One day when your grandchildren ask,
"Did you participate in the 50,000 Asian Am Survey
on college admission policy in 2012, grandpa and
grandma? My textbook says that the survey had an
impact on the Supreme Court decision on college
admissions in 2012. You spoke up, right?"

Take 80-20's survey NOW, if you have NOT already. Click on
http://admin.80-20nj.info/cgi/80/e?l=8/11e/f&w=no .

(2) The Survey will be closed after reaching 50,000

Thus far the FOR/AGAINST ratio fluctuates around 31 to 1. The names of non-Asian Am. participants of the survey will be deleted from the permanent display. We expect to close the survey in the next 2 to 3 days, when the number of Asian Am participants is 50,000 or more.

(3) Asian Am NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS will co-file the amicus brief to the Supreme Court with 80-20 EF

o The largest 3 Indian American nat'l orgs. joined as co-filers:
Global Organization of People of Indian origin (GOPIO),
National Federation of Indian Associations (NFIA), and
Indian American Forum for Political education (IAFPE).

80-20 EF welcomes all other Asian Am. national organizations
to co-file the brief with us.

Take 80-20's survey NOW, if you have NOT yet. Click on

A SURVEY that frees AsAm college bounds

o Will this SURVEY, http://admin.80-20nj.info/cgi/80/e?l=8/11e/f&w=no ,
help eliminate discrimination against our college bounds?
We believe it will play an instrumental role!

o Will this SURVEY fulfill our generational responsibility to our children?
Certainly a big step in the right direction!

o Has the SURVEY come back online?
Yes. Sorry for the down time yesterday.

o What is so special about this SURVEY?
Historic in size and unanimity! 45,000 Asian Ams choosing 31.5 to 1 in favor of a "race-neutral and merit-based college admission policy."

o Why does the SURVEY ask participants to choose between FOR & AGAINST?

Because 80-20 is politically astute! If the survey asks for people to support 80-20's position only, after the 50,000-persons survey is completed, the opponents to "a race-neutral college admission" will sneeze at it. They may say "So what that 50,000 support that position. It only means that all the rest of the Asian Ams are AGAINST it."

Since 80-20 is conducting an OPEN survey that lets all Asian Ams choose between FOR & AGAINST, and the choice is 31.5 to 1 in favor of a "race-neutral college admission," the consensus of our community is CLEAR. Those 4 Asian Am. organizations, filing legal briefs with the Supreme Court supporting the current "race conscious college admission system," may want to reconsider its "misguided" position. Our community has spoken. Will those 4 Asian American organizations hear us?

Taken the SURVEY yet? To take it, click on

http://admin.80-20nj.info/cgi/80/e?l=8/11e/f&w=no .
Be a part of history, help pass the word. We need only 5000 more to make 50,000!

As of 7:30 a.m. 3/9/2012, the FOR/AGAINST ratio of the "first 37,325 participants" is 31.4 to 1. It is by far the largest Asian Am OPEN survey in history.

Change that 37,325 number to above 40,000 today. Spread the word again and again, especially to our COLLEGE BOUNDS.

Take the Survey NOW! Do Your Part to Improve our Destiny.

Lots of Positive Development

Overwhelming consensus in our community for a race-neutral and merit-based college admission policy

As of 9 a.m. today, the FOR/AGAINST ratio of the "first 27,507 participants" is 33.2 to 1. It is an OPEN survey. Any Asian Am is welcome to express his/her view whether FOR or AGAINST. If you've not
taken the survey yet, click on http://admin.80-20nj.info/cgi/80/e?l=8/11e/f&w=no .

Be sure to spread this message far and wide to AsAms., especially our COLLEGE BOUNDS. Our goal is 50,000 paticipants. We are only half way.

There is a good Chinese article on "Petition for Danny Chen," please forward it:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0Bwk7a9rgbHiQMnJKT29RT1lUUGFlbVBEYmY4Nk5QUQ .
I am looking for similar Korean and Vietnamese articles. Please let me know, if you see such articles. How about writing one? :)

Under 80-20's leadership, our community has formed a cohesive voice. 50,000 Asian Am. participants will equate a 1,000,000 person participation in the general society, because AsAms are only 1/20 our nation's population.

Asian Am. lawyers volunteered to file amicus brief

80-20 is so proud of these volunteers, whose names will be publicized once the amicus brief is filed.

We are still looking for a lead lawyer with amble experience practicing in the Supreme Court. We know that there are such lions in our legal community. In the Jewish Am. community, the most prominent lawyers compete to perform pro-bono services for their own community.

Army Secretary's office will brief US Senators Carper and Coons Regarding the Danny Chen Case.

o The offices of Senior US Senator of Delaware, Tom Carper, will join US Senator Chris Coons to be briefed by Army Secretary HcHugh's office.

Here is a message from Sen. Carper to S. B. Woo and his senate staff Harlan Geer:

"S.B., I like that idea. Harlan, please follow up with Senator Coons' office and ask that our office be included in the same briefing. Also, please invite Congressman Carney's staff to participate, too. Please reach out, as well, to the Army's congressional liaison and let them know that we want to be included in that briefing. Thanks. Tc"

Senator Caper is a great friend of the Asian Am. community.

o Our Petition to Pres. Obama "crying out for justice for Danny Chen" exceeded our goal of 10,000 petitioners by 20%. We've stopped that petition for now. It may restart if signs of injustice involving the Danny Chen case begin to surface.

Your Share

1) Be vigilant regarding the Danny Chen case. E-mail your 2 senators and one congressperson about 80-20's Petition to Pres. Obama.

2) If you've NOT taken the SURVEY, take it NOW! Click on http://admin.80-20nj.info/cgi/80/e?l=8/11e/f&w=no .

If you have NOT forward the above site-address to your friends or upload it to a popular website yet, do it NOW.
