Prof. Anming Hu's Human Rights Abused by the U.S. Government
FBI agents lied and cheated in their investigation and prosecution of Prof. Hu. Hu is a person without a past crime record or credible evidence of a current crime. They've grossly abused the government's power to violate Hu's human rights. As a result, Hu has lost his job and incurred large legal fees. Click here to learn details which came out of a court trial and was reported by Knox News of TN. The trial ended in a mistrial, although DOJ has NOT dropped the case yet.
YOU & 80-20 leapt to action. We have 2 aims. (i) Provide relief for Hu's family of 5 with 1 small children, and (ii) to stop DOJ from doing the same to YOU & me or any other human beings.
(a) What YOU & 80-20 have already accomplished
(i) Raised at least $40K for Hu's family. We demonstrated our belief in "one for all, and all for one."
"certified and return receipt requested". DOJ has acknowledged the receipt of 80-20's letter on 7/6.
The powerful letter has moved 3 US senators to support our request to the A.G. to tighten its ship & prevent the recurrence of such outrageous investigation & prosecution. If Garland responds positively, DOJ may also drop its case against Hu. On 7/15, 9 days after DOJ has acknowledged 80-20's letter to the A.G., DOJ dropped the case against Dr. Qing Wang.
(b) YOURS & 80-20's current focus
Our current focus is to generate sufficient political pressure to get the desired result.
(1) Senator Tom Carper (DE) sent a copy of 80-20's letter to the A.G.,
requesting to be copied in when the A. G. replies,
(2) Sen. Chris Coons (DE), a member of the Judiciary Comm., which has
oversight on DOJ, is drafting a letter to the A. G. regarding Hu's case,
(3) Sen. Tammy Duckworth (IL) and I talked on the phone last Thursday.
She'll call the White House Liaison Erika Moritsugu, who used to work
for her, to reply and comment on 80-20's letter to the A.G., (b) talk to Rep.
Judy Chu, Chair of the Congressional AAPI Caucus, to consider together
sending a letter to the A.G. and (c) she might also contact Sen. Coons.
