government about "serious long-term cost to the US", if the government
indulges in its current trend.
"...we must take great care not to create a toxic atmosphere of unfound- ed suspicion and fear. Looking at cases across the nation, small number of
researchers of Chinese backgrounders may indeed have acted in bad
faith, but they are the exception and very far from the rule. Yet faculty
members, postdocs, research staff and students tell me that, in their
dealings with government agencies, they now feel unfairly scrutinized,
stigmatized and on edge - because of their Chinese ethnicity alone."

[B] Dominic Ng, Chairman and Chief Executive of East West Bank, Los
Angeles, CA, published a persuasive Op Ed at the LA Times. It is titled
He is a great role model. Most Chinese Americans who are successful in
careers, be they in business, academia, politics or entertainment, are timid to speak
out to defend our civic rights. They even dissociate themselves from the Chinese American community. Dominic is an exception. We salute Dominic Ng.
[C] S. B. Woo, President of 80-20 EF and 80-20 SuperPAC, sent a certified
letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray. Woo urged Wray to back off his
"Whole-of-Society Approach" to catch Chinese spies, because he is using a
totalitarian methodology in peacetime to solve an American challenge.
