The best way to protect ourselves politically

Q: What is the best way for Asian Ams to politically protect ourselves? A: Give (1) lip service & (2) small donations. Q: Give "lip service and small donation" to whom? A: To organizations which are true in their hearts and effective in helping AsAms.  That way, you'll get a big return from a tiny investment. Q: Why would lip service work? A: In a one-person-one-vote democracy, an organization that can deliver a lot of votes has political clout.  If 1/10 of the 18 million Asian Ams think that 80-20 is a good organization, and give it lip service i.e. praises in social networks, conversations with elected officials, and in prints,it'll mean 1.8 million AsAms occasionally praise 80-20 -- lip service.   However, the result will be significant.  Politicians will therefore know that 80-20 is probably capable of delivering votes.  That awareness gives 80-20 the political clout to serve YOU.       Q: Why will making "small donations" work help?  What is small?    A:  0.1% of your annual income is small.  Invest that in politics.  If you invest in an organization like 80-20, you'll get a HUGE return from it. Let me illustrate.  There are a million plus AsAm families with an annual income of $100,000, according to national statistics.  If 1/10 of them will choose to give 80-20 $100/yr for 5 years, it'll be  ($100/family X 1,000,000 families x 1/10) = $10 million per year for 5 years. 80-20's current budget is $100,000.  IMAGINE, if 80-20 has a $10 million annual budget!  Will you still face the lowest glass ceiling in workplaces?  Will your children still face the highest huddles in college admissions?  Will people like Beckel still dare to demonize us?         Q: Giving lip service & small donations makes good sense!  Why aren't we      doing them?  A:  Why aren't we?  :-)                         Act!!! Give Small Donation NOW!                     80-20's SELF must raise $1 million/yr for 5 yrs, since S.B. Woo retires in 2016.  Otherwise, 80-20 will likely demise. Raised $250,000 for SELF in 2 Days

Q: What is SELF? A: SELF stands for Self Empowerment Long-term Fund.  In 10 months, it has raised $1.5 million, pledged over 5 years.  But it is not enough. Q:  Why is SELF needed?  A:  To keep 80-20 alive, after S. B. Woo retires in 2016.  He works for 80-20 for free.  After he retires, 80-20 needs to find good people to replace him.  Good people don't normally work for an organization without a solid financial base and an adequate annual budget.  The current annual budget for 80-20 is $100,000.  In comparison, that of AIPAC, the Jewish political powerhouse, is $67 million. Q:  How much does SELF need to raise? A:  A minimum of $1 million per year for 5 years, to be raised in 2 years.  If the goal is NOT met, 80-20 will likely demise, and all donation will be refunded in full.  Not a penny of the raised fund has been spent. Q: OK, now that I know what is SELF & its goal, tell me how you raised the $250,000 in 2 days? A:  80-20's last e-newsletter entitled "Collectively, we failed our children on Beckel" obviously has resonated with the hearts of Asian Ams.  An anonymous donordonated an additional $120,000! To see that, click on Acknowledgement Page. 8 others donated another $3,975.  As a result, SELF has finally raised $300,363 per year for 5 years, reaching 1/3 of our goal.  In addition, 80-20just got a $125,000 grant yesterday.  More on that later. Q: SELF has existed for 10 months.  Is SELF way behind schedule?   A: Yes.  We should have raised $445,000 per year for 5 years by now. Q:  So is 80-20 quitting?    A Democratic political consultant, Kathy Groob tweeted, “Hey Mitch, nothing against you and your spouse should be off limits, since you mentioned that she isn’t from Ky, she is Asian, on Fancy Farm." To see it click here.

   This is one more example of how when we let a statement like Beckel get away, all Asian Americans can suffer -- even a former cabinet secretary and the wife of a powerful Senate Minority leader. While we have had our policy disagreements with Sec. Chao, we decry racist statements against her. The next victim could be YOU or ALL OF US! Wake up!

                 For Deterrence, let’s Get Beckel Fired First

“Dear Mr. Ailes,
I saw the ignorant musings of Bob Beckel speaking about the Chinese. If calling Chinese people Chinamen wasn't enough, his hand gesture at the end of his rant was downright despicable. Who is he to say, "We bring them over here, educate them and they attack us." The Chinese have been over here for generations— building our trains, growing our fruits (like the Bing Cherry), developing our
hardware and software industries, and creating our communities. America is not just one lily white nation with invaders constantly encroaching and threatening this peaceful existence. It is, and always has been, a melting pot of diverse people. For "newsmen" to speak otherwise is actually what is the largest threat to our nation.

I hope you will do what is right and find Mr. Beckel a more appropriate position- -off the air. Until then I will refrain from viewing your news.

   Exciting News!    UNITY is within grasp!

   Many Chinese-/Asian- American orgs. have agreed to work
together to get Beckel fired under the following principle:

                      The Statement That Unite Us

   “We are united with a single purpose to achieve the resignation of
Robert Beckel or his firing from Fox News. Although each organization
may choose a different tactic, we are united with our common goal.
This mission transcends politics and partisanships and we will work with
all elected officials towards this goal.

   This alliance of the Chinese/Asian American organizations working
together will forge “a deterrent on anti-Chinese/Asian statements
broadcast by major U.S. news media.”

                          Strategy to Win This Battle

   This may be a difficult and long battle. Hence, here is the strategy
to ensure victory. For everyday that Beckel is not fired, we’ll use the time to

(1) forge UNITY of the Chinese-/Asian- American community, &
(2) organize a worldwide boycott of products advertised on “The Five”.

                                What You Can Do!

   Help expand this UNITY. We need and welcome leadership from China-
town orgs. and a few other well-known organizations. Don’t hesitate to
speak on our behalf. Tell them that joining this Coalition is a win-win
for them & our community. In a way, they isolate themselves, if they
still refuse after the news of this growing UNITY, and after repeated
direct and indirect approach from this Coalition to welcome them to help
lead us. Could they be marginalizing themselves?

   Help support the war chest of ANY of the above orgs. This is
another way to let Fox know that you are serious. 80-20 will publicize a
list of companies which are the biggest advertisers on “The Fire” in its
next e-newsletter.

Beckel's Hatred of Chinese MUCH Stronger than Shown Earlier

   The Huffington tape on the Beckel statement on 7/10/2014 should
have lasted 20 seconds longer. The tape cuts out, after a female
panelist said, “… should be on The Soup*.” Had it gone on, WE would
have heard:

   BECKEL: “Really, doesn't anybody worry about these
      people? Billions of them, and all they do is hack
      into our stuff. They send us cheap toys, all of
      which got lead in them. They kill kids.”

   To verify, view transcript of the “The Five” of that day & scroll down
hundreds of lines to its very end.   Please note that

(1) Beckel could not possibly be thinking about China, since he said,
“. . . worry about these people? Billion of them . . . They kill kids.”

(2) When he used the word “Billions”, obviously he was not just
thinking of China’s citizens, he included citizens of the other
nations worldwide who are of Chinese descent. They include Chinese
Americans, Chinese Canadians, Singaporeans, Chinese Australians,
Chinese Indonesians ... , etc.  Getting Alarmed? We should.

(3) “They kill kids.” That is the ultimate demonization!

                          Getting Alarmed? We Should!

   GM made faulty ignition switches which caused the death of many
Americans. Indeed, GM intentionally didn’t report the facts till much later.
But, no one will ever accuse ALL GM employees as “killing Americans.”

   Beckel, with such hatred against Chinese race, should NOT be
on “The Five” program of Fox. When Fox refuses to fire him, then it
becomes Fox’s fault.

   80-20 wrote Fox president Roger Ailes on 7/21 urging him to fire
Beckel. Mr. Ailes hasn’t replied. Hence, we are compelled to act against Fox.

      80-20 calls for the worldwide BOYCOTT** of products of
       companies that advertise on “The Five” on Fox News.

   80-20 will NEVER abandon this demand. It will work with all
organizations, elected officials, and individuals who share the goal
of either getting Beckel to resign or Fox to fire him.

   Do your share! ACT!
(i) Forward this email to your friends in the US and elsewhere.
(ii) Volunteer your time and money to help 80-20 build a war chest.
(iii) Talk to organizations you know to induce them to contact and
         UNITE with 80-20 in this campaign.

   Many recent immigrants sense danger, especially those who work in
high tech areas. 80-20 shall come to your aid.

   DON’T be like the Jews in Nazi Germany who didn’t speak out
UNTIL TOO LATE.
