Matching Available to Reach $383,000 Today!

A $5,000 per year for 5 years MATCHING fund was made available by Prof. Mu-Ming Poo.  Please help us take advantage of it.   The total donation is  $378,000 now.    With your help, we can reach $383,000 today!

To be convince that 80-20 is worth your money, read two recent e-newsletters.
(1) "AsAms, Courage Is Your Name"     After reading it, ask yourself:

"Are there other AsAms org. that may possibly have that kind of courage, willingness to sacrifice self to serve you & political skill?"

(2) "Ousting "Race-Preference" Admissions" -- 80-20's e-newsletter of yesterday.  Search your Inbox.  After reading it, ask yourself:

"Are there other AsAm org. that command high level impact on ousting "race-preference"  college admissions?"

If your answer is "no," then help 80-20 seize the matching money quickly.  Otherwise, 80-20 may not be around to fight for the AsAm community.

                          DONATE here till it hurts.

PS: Why is 80-20 tooting its own horn so hard?
We are embarrassed and almost ashamed in doing so.  We worked quietly for our community for 15 years.  Now S.B. Woo is retiring & after that 80-20 will likely die, unless we can hire and train top quality staff soon and pay them well.  It's time to be frank and ask our community to judge whether 80-20 is worth their financial support to keep it alive.  The Jewish political org.  AIPAC has a $67 million annual budget.

Overturning "race-preference" admissions!

Q: WHO is the most important individual fighting against "race-preference" college admissions?
A: Edward Blum.  NY Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Washington Times all said so.

He brought the on going "Fisher vs. UofTexas" law suit.  He recently filed law suites against Harvard and U. of N. Carolina.  Don't you wish that the rich Asian Ams will put up the money to fight against Harvard instead of donating to Harvard?

Q: WHICH is the ONLY AsAm national org. fighting against such admissions?
A:  80-20!  All other national orgs. are on the other side against YOU!  Yes.  That is how much you have been betrayed because most of us don't pay attention to politics.

Q: Does Ed Blum think 80-20 is a BIG help?
A:  Mr. Blum calls and emails S.B. Woo often.

Q: What do they talk about?
A: Mapping out strategy to win the law suits against Harvard and Univ. of NC.

Q: Harvard is a private school, would any federal cout ruling be effective?
A: YES!   Harvard will lose hundreds of millions of federal awards.  Would that be effective, you think?

Q: Are you pleased and proud that 80-20 plays such a significant role in the fight against "race-preference" college admissions?
A:  Should be.  Please help 80-20 back.  It is dying.

PS.  SELF money verified!  A committee of 3 BOD members was appointed by S.B. to verify the existence of the SELF fund and that not a penny has been spent except for banking fees.  The committee has reported back, shown below, verifying the above statement.

"We have verified the cash accounts (the "Accounts") of the 80-20 SELF (the "Organization") as of December 20, 2014 per the request of the Board of Donors ("Board Request").  Our responsibility is to independently confirm the Organization's cash balance as of December 20, 2014 based on our observation of the Accounts via online banking.

The Accounts was opened upon establishment of the Organization and all of the contributions have been deposited to the Accounts. No discretionary expense has expended except processing fees and bank charges associated with the processing of contributions. We were provided monthly bank statements as well as the 80-20 Educational Foundation, Inc.'s 2013 Form 990 Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax, which contained the relevant information to the Accounts.  In addition we were provided continued access to the Accounts for the purpose of monitoring of the SELF fund on an on-going basis.

We have identified PNC bank at which the Organization currently maintained the Accounts as of December 20, 2014 and independently verified the Organization's cash balances of the Accounts ("Statement of the Accounts") on December 20, 2014. For the purpose of this Report, "independently verified" means that we were provided the online access to the Accounts, and physically reviewed the cash balances of the Accounts.

Comparing with Jewish Ams. Astounding!

SELF had a great week, raising $100k, thanks to YOU!  However, unless this trend is kept up for 40 more weeks, 80-20 is still dying.

A Board of Donors Member sent me the following:

"Recently I attended several parties and talked to some relatively new friends about 80-20. The people were all shocked when they got to know so few AsAms donated to 80-20. The room went silent when they were told 16% of US non-orthodox Jews donate to Israeli religious organizations every year, because we all know those 16% Jews cannot all be the wealthy bankers."

Guess What, 16% is way too low!

    S. B. Woo thought the 16% figure sounded low.

The Jewish Ams are politically so strong, because they know that "money talks" and they donate to let those who know politics protect them.  The "donate to Israeli religious orgs" category used above may be too restrictive to accurately reflect the tradition of the Jewish Ams.
So S. B. googled for more general information about the giving tradition of the Jewish Americans.

Click here to see an article based on Pew Report, entitled "How to expand shrinking Jewish middle," Nov 12, 2014.  The following is a summary statement:

Of particular note to federations and all who care about : Just 43 percent of non-Orthodox Jews between 30 and 49 donate to any Jewish cause, sharply down from 60 percent among those just 20 years their senior.

ASTOUNDING!    Even 43% is too blow!  How do we compare?   How do YOU compare?

$100k Raised in 7 days. There's HOPE!

YOU gave us HOPE!.  SELF raised $100,000 in equivalent lump sum in the most recent week, in spite of the Christmas season when many didn't read emails.

At this rate, in another 40 weeks, SELF will reach $800,000 per year for 5 years by Oct. 25, 2015.  This will NOT be enough.  But this gives us HOPE!

GOOD COMPLEMENTARY NEWS:  80-20 has secured a big donor who is willing to give $250,000 in lump sum, provided that WE TOGETHER will find 3 other persons/foundations to match it by Oct. 25, 2015.

80-20 is recruiting 10 individuals to each "try his/her best to find one such donor."   If you are kind enough to join this list of 10, please write S. B. Woo,via sbw@80-20.org.

      In the meantime, please

                          DONATE here till it hurts.

Bear in mind that the Jewish American AIPAC has a $67 million per year budget as opposed to 80-20's $100,000 - a difference of 67,000%!
